Kim Delaney, an American actress best known as Detective Diane Russell on ABC's NYPD Blue series for which she was awarded an Emmy Award. She is best known for her performance on All My Children Philly CSI: Miami, Army Wives. As the sole daughter of a high-ranking executive in the United Auto Workers and a household worker, Delaney was raised with four brothers. In her early years, she dreamt of being an official in the courtroom. But after she graduated from high school and moving into New York in the 1980s then she started modeling. Her first role as an actor was as a teenage innocent on All My Children, a 1981 soap opera. Delaney was a talented young actress who was in her 20s, appeared in a variety of TV films and dramas. Like her career, her personal life hasn't been a success or happy one. There were two divorces that failed and fought with alcohol addiction. In 2005, the actress was denied custody over her one son.
