To get ready for her screen test, she took an entire day. Later she was contracted for three films as part of the Yash Raj Films label. The role she played was that of a younger wedding bride to a middle-aged actor (Shah Rukh Khan) in the film. The film was hit on the box office and was the second-highest-grossing movie of 2008. Anushka appeared in the 2010 film "Badmash Company" with Shahid Kapoor Meiyang Chang, Vir Das. The film was met with mixed receptions. Anushka Sharma was the lead in the same movie 'Band Baaja Baaraat. The actress played the role of a Punjabi woman of middle class, who has her own wedding company. The film was an unexpected success and received good reviews. Anushka was able to complete the contract for three films together with Yash Raj Films.
